Stone Carving

Stone carving is a splendid treasure in traditional Chinese art. China boasts many schools of stone carving, with Quyang of Hebei, Hui’an of Fujian and Jiaxiang of Shandong being most distinctive. Quyang stone carving has participated in classic projects such as the Forbidden City and the Monument to the People’s Heroes, witnessing thousands of years of craftsmanship inheritance. From historical allusions and folk customs to modern features, stone carving takes stone as canvas and chisel as brush, engraving cultural memory and spirit of the times. It retains traditional ingenuity while integrating modern creativity, becoming urban cultural landmarks and spiritual symbols.
